قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنِّي أَسْمَعُ مِنْكَ حَدِيثًا كَثِيرًا أَنْسَاهُ. قَالَ " ابْسُطْ رِدَاءَكَ " فَبَسَطْتُهُ. قَالَ فَغَرَفَ بِيَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ " ضُمُّهُ " فَضَمَمْتُهُ فَمَا نَسِيتُ شَيْئًا بَعْدَهُ.

Abu Hurairah reported: I said: “O Messenger of Allah, I hear many hadiths from you which I forget.” He said: “Spread out your cloak!” So I spread it out. (Abu Hurairah) said: Then he scooped with his hands (into it) and said: “Gather it up!” So I gathered it up, and after that I did not forget anything.
