Sahih

One who relieves himself on two mud bricks

Translation

Wasi' ibn Habban reported: Abdullah ibn Umar used to say, “Some people say: ‘When you sit down to relieve yourself, do not face the qiblah or Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem).’” Abdullah ibn Umar said, “One day I went up onto the roof of a house of ours, and I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on two mud bricks, facing Bayt al-Maqdis, relieving himself.” And he said (to me), “Perhaps you are one of those who pray on their hips.” I said, “I do not know, by Allah.” Malik said: He means the one who prays without raising himself from the ground, prostrating while clinging to the ground.

Translator’s note: Malik (ibn Anas) is a later narrator in the chain; he explains the phrase “pray on their hips”.

Deutsch

Ömer (r.a.) Abdullah b. Ömer şöyle dedi: “Andolsun, bir gün bize ait bir evin damına çıktım ve Resûlullah'ı ﷺ iki kerpiç üzerinde, ihtiyacını giderirken Beytülmakdis'e yönelmiş hâlde gördüm.” (Sonra bana) “Sen herhalde kalçaları üzerine namaz kılanlardansın” dedi. Ben de, “Vallahi bilmiyorum” dedim. Mâlik dedi ki: Yerden kalkmadan namaz kılan, yere yapışık olarak secde eden kimseyi kastediyor.

Translator’s note: Mâlik (b. Enes) senedde yer alan sonraki bir râvidir; “kalçaları üzerine namaz kılmak” ifadesini açıklamaktadır.
