Chapter 4 · Ablutions (Wudu')
Sahih

One who rinses the mouth after sawiq and does not perform ablution

Translation

Suwayd ibn an-Nu'man reported that he went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of Khaybar. When they were at as-Sahba' – which is the nearest part of Khaybar – he prayed the Asr prayer. Then he called for the provisions, but nothing was brought except sawiq. He ordered it to be moistened, and it was moistened. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate, and we ate. Then he stood up for the Maghrib prayer, rinsed his mouth, and we rinsed our mouths. Then he prayed and did not perform ablution (wudu).

Translator’s note: The year of the expedition to Khaybar is meant. Sawiq is meal of roasted barley or wheat, eaten mixed with water.

Deutsch
