Washing off blood
جَاءَتْ فَاطِمَةُ ابْنَةُ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي امْرَأَةٌ أُسْتَحَاضُ فَلاَ أَطْهُرُ، أَفَأَدَعُ الصَّلاَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " لاَ، إِنَّمَا ذَلِكِ عِرْقٌ، وَلَيْسَ بِحَيْضٍ، فَإِذَا أَقْبَلَتْ حَيْضَتُكِ فَدَعِي الصَّلاَةَ، وَإِذَا أَدْبَرَتْ فَاغْسِلِي عَنْكِ الدَّمَ ثُمَّ صَلِّي ". قَالَ وَقَالَ أَبِي " ثُمَّ تَوَضَّئِي لِكُلِّ صَلاَةٍ، حَتَّى يَجِيءَ ذَلِكَ الْوَقْتُ ".

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ
Translation
Aishah reported: Fatimah bint Abi Hubaysh came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “O Messenger of Allah, I am a woman who suffers from prolonged bleeding (istihadah) and I do not become pure. Shall I then leave the prayer?” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “No, that is only a vein and not menstruation. When your menstruation comes, leave the prayer, and when it has passed, wash the blood off yourself and then pray.” (Hisham) said: And my father said, “Then perform ablution (wudu) for every prayer until that time comes (again).”
Translator’s note: Istihadah: bleeding outside the menstrual period. The one who says “And my father said” is Hisham ibn Urwah, a later narrator in the chain; his father is Urwah ibn az-Zubayr. “That time” refers to the next menstrual period.

Aischa berichtete: Fatima bint Abi Hubaisch kam zum Propheten ﷺ und sagte: „O Gesandter Allahs, ich bin eine Frau mit Dauerblutung (Istihada) und werde nicht rein. Soll ich da das Gebet lassen?“ Da sagte der Gesandte Allahs ﷺ: „Nein, das ist nur eine Ader und keine Menstruation. Wenn deine Menstruation kommt, dann lass das Gebet, und wenn sie vorüber ist, dann wasch das Blut von dir ab und bete.“ (Hischam) sagte: Und mein Vater sagte: „Dann vollzieh die Gebetswaschung für jedes Gebet, bis jene Zeit (wieder) kommt.“
Translator’s note: Istihada: Blutung außerhalb der Menstruation. Der Sprecher von „Und mein Vater sagte“ ist Hischam ibn Urwa, ein späterer Überlieferer in der Kette; sein Vater ist Urwa ibn az-Zubair. Mit „jene Zeit“ ist die nächste Menstruation gemeint.

Âişe (r.a.) şöyle rivayet etti: Fâtıma bint Ebû Hubeyş (r.a.) Nebî'ye ﷺ geldi ve şöyle dedi: “Ey Allah'ın Resûlü! Ben istihâza kanı gören bir kadınım, temizlenemiyorum. Namazı bırakayım mı?” Resûlullah ﷺ şöyle buyurdu: “Hayır, o sadece bir damardır, hayız değildir. Hayzın geldiğinde namazı bırak; gittiğinde ise kanı üzerinden yıka, sonra namaz kıl.” (Hişâm) dedi ki: Babam da şöyle dedi: “Sonra o vakit (yeniden) gelinceye kadar her namaz için abdest al.”
Translator’s note: İstihâza: hayız dışındaki kanama. “Babam da şöyle dedi” diyen, senedde yer alan sonraki râvi Hişâm b. Urve'dir; babası Urve b. Zübeyr'dir. “O vakit” ile bir sonraki hayız kastedilir.
