Sahih

The coming and going of menstruation

Translation

Aishah reported that Fatimah bint Abi Hubaysh suffered from prolonged bleeding (istihadah) and asked the Prophet ﷺ. He said, “That is a vein and not menstruation. When the menstruation comes, leave the prayer, and when it goes, take the ritual bath (ghusl) and pray.”
