The tooth-stick (siwak)
أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَسْتَنُّ بِسِوَاكٍ بِيَدِهِ يَقُولُ " أُعْ أُعْ "، وَالسِّوَاكُ فِي فِيهِ، كَأَنَّهُ يَتَهَوَّعُ.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ غَيْلاَنَ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ
Translation
Abu Musa al-Ash'ari reported: I came to the Prophet ﷺ and found him cleaning his teeth with a tooth-stick (siwak) in his hand. He was saying, “U', u',” with the tooth-stick in his mouth, as if he were retching.

Abu Musa al-Asch'ari berichtete: Ich kam zum Propheten ﷺ und fand ihn, wie er sich mit einem Zahnputzholz (Siwak) in seiner Hand die Zähne reinigte. Er sagte: „U', u'“, während das Zahnputzholz in seinem Mund war, als ob er würgte.

Ebû Mûsâ el-Eş'arî (r.a.) şöyle rivayet etti: Nebî'ye ﷺ geldim; onu elindeki misvakla dişlerini temizlerken buldum. Misvak ağzındayken “Ö', ö'” diyordu; sanki öğürüyordu.
