Chapter 5 · Bathing (Ghusl)
Sahih

One who begins with the hilab or with perfume at the ritual bath (ghusl)

Translation

Aishah reported: When the Prophet ﷺ took the ritual bath (ghusl) for janabah, he would call for something like the hilab. He took (from it) with his hand and began with the right side of his head, then the left. Then he poured with both (hands) over his head.

Translator’s note: Hilab: a milking vessel. “He poured” renders the Arabic “he said with them”, which here denotes an action. Janabah: the state of major ritual impurity, e.g. after intercourse or ejaculation.

Other translations

Deutsch

Âişe (r.a.)
