A woman undoing her hair when she takes the ritual bath (ghusl) after menstruation
خَرَجْنَا مُوَافِينَ لِهِلاَلِ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُهِلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ فَلْيُهْلِلْ، فَإِنِّي لَوْلاَ أَنِّي أَهْدَيْتُ لأَهْلَلْتُ بِعُمْرَةٍ ". فَأَهَلَّ بَعْضُهُمْ بِعُمْرَةٍ، وَأَهَلَّ بَعْضُهُمْ بِحَجٍّ، وَكُنْتُ أَنَا مِمَّنْ أَهَلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ، فَأَدْرَكَنِي يَوْمُ عَرَفَةَ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ، فَشَكَوْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ " دَعِي عُمْرَتَكِ، وَانْقُضِي رَأْسَكِ وَامْتَشِطِي، وَأَهِلِّي بِحَجٍّ ". فَفَعَلْتُ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ لَيْلَةُ الْحَصْبَةِ أَرْسَلَ مَعِي أَخِي عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، فَخَرَجْتُ إِلَى التَّنْعِيمِ، فَأَهْلَلْتُ بِعُمْرَةٍ مَكَانَ عُمْرَتِي. قَالَ هِشَامٌ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ فِي شَىْءٍ مِنْ ذَلِكَ هَدْىٌ وَلاَ صَوْمٌ وَلاَ صَدَقَةٌ.

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ
Translation
Aishah reported: We set out close to the new moon of Dhul-Hijjah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Whoever wishes to raise the talbiyah for Umrah, let him do so, for had I not brought a sacrificial animal, I would have raised the talbiyah for Umrah.” So some of them raised the talbiyah for Umrah and some for Hajj, and I was among those who raised it for Umrah. The day of Arafah came upon me while I was menstruating, and I complained to the Prophet ﷺ. He said, “Leave your Umrah, undo your hair, comb it and raise the talbiyah for Hajj.” I did so, until on the night of al-Hasbah he sent my brother Abd ar-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr with me. I went out to at-Tan'im and raised the talbiyah for an Umrah in place of my Umrah. Hisham said: And in none of that was there a sacrificial animal, fasting or charity (sadaqah).
Translator’s note: Hisham is Hisham ibn Urwah, a later narrator in the chain. It means that no compensation was due for the interrupted Umrah.

Aischa berichtete: Wir zogen aus, als der Neumond des Dhu l-Hiddscha bevorstand. Da sagte der Gesandte Allahs ﷺ: „Wer die Talbiya für eine Umra erheben möchte, der soll sie erheben. Denn hätte ich nicht ein Opfertier mitgebracht, hätte ich die Talbiya für eine Umra erhoben.“ So erhoben einige von ihnen die Talbiya für eine Umra und einige für eine Pilgerfahrt (Hadsch), und ich gehörte zu denen, die sie für eine Umra erhoben. Da erreichte mich der Tag von Arafa, während ich meine Menstruation hatte. Ich klagte es dem Propheten ﷺ, und er sagte: „Lass deine Umra, löse dein Haar, kämme dich und erhebe die Talbiya für die Pilgerfahrt.“ Ich tat es, bis er in der Nacht von al-Hasba meinen Bruder Abd ar-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr mit mir schickte. Ich ging hinaus nach at-Tan'im und erhob die Talbiya für eine Umra anstelle meiner Umra. Hischam sagte: Und bei nichts davon gab es ein Opfertier, ein Fasten oder eine Spende (Sadaqa).

Âişe (r.a.) şöyle rivayet etti: Zilhicce hilâline doğru yola çıktık. Resûlullah ﷺ şöyle buyurdu: “Umre için telbiyeye başlamak isteyen başlasın. Eğer kurbanlık getirmemiş olsaydım, ben de umre için telbiyeye başlardım.” Bunun üzerine bazıları umre için, bazıları da hac için telbiyeye başladı. Ben de umre için telbiyeye başlayanlardandım. Arefe günü bana hayızlı iken erişti. Durumu Nebî'ye ﷺ şikâyet ettim. Şöyle buyurdu: “Umreni bırak, saçını çöz, tara ve hac için telbiyeye başla.” Ben de öyle yaptım. Nihayet Hasbe gecesi kardeşim Abdurrahman b. Ebû Bekir'i benimle gönderdi. Ten'îm'e çıktım ve umremin yerine umre için telbiyeye başladım. Hişâm dedi ki: Bunların hiçbirinde ne kurban ne oruç ne de sadaka vardı.
