Praying in a church

Translation

Aishah reported that Umm Salamah mentioned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a church she had seen in the land of Abyssinia called Mariyah, and told him about the images she had seen in it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Those are a people who, when the righteous servant – or the righteous man – among them died, would build a place of prayer over his grave and paint those images in it. Those are the worst of creation in the sight of Allah.”

Âişe (r.a.), Ümmü Seleme'nin (r.a.)
