Chapter 9 · Times of the Prayers
The virtue of praying at the proper time

Translation
Ibn Mas'ud reported: I asked the Prophet ﷺ, “Which deed is most beloved to Allah?” He said, “The prayer at its time.” I asked, “Then which?” He said, “Then kindness to the parents.” I asked, “Then which?” He said, “Striving (jihad) in the cause of Allah.” He told me these, and had I asked him for more, he would have told me more.
Translator’s note: In the Arabic, the narrator from Ibn Mas'ud introduces the follow-up questions and the last sentence with “he said”.

İbn Mes'ûd (r.a.) şöyle rivayet etti: Nebî'ye ﷺ: “Allah'a en sevimli amel hangisidir?” diye sordum. “Vaktinde kılınan namaz” buyurdu. “Sonra hangisi?” dedim. “Sonra anne babaya iyilik” buyurdu. “Sonra hangisi?” dedim. “Allah yolunda cihad” buyurdu. Bunları bana o söyledi; daha fazlasını isteseydim bana daha fazlasını söylerdi.
