Chapter 9 · Times of the Prayersالنَّوْمِ قَبْلَ الْعِشَاءِ لِمَنْ غُلِبَ
Sleeping before the Isha prayer for one who is overcome (by sleep)
أَعْتَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِالْعِشَاءِ حَتَّى نَادَاهُ عُمَرُ الصَّلاَةَ، نَامَ النِّسَاءُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ. فَخَرَجَ فَقَالَ " مَا يَنْتَظِرُهَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الأَرْضِ غَيْرُكُمْ ". قَالَ وَلاَ يُصَلَّى يَوْمَئِذٍ إِلاَّ بِالْمَدِينَةِ، وَكَانُوا يُصَلُّونَ فِيمَا بَيْنَ أَنْ يَغِيبَ الشَّفَقُ إِلَى ثُلُثِ اللَّيْلِ الأَوَّلِ.

حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ صَالِحُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ
Translation
Aishah reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed the Isha prayer until Umar called out to him, “The prayer! The women and the children have fallen asleep.” Then he came out and said, “No one among the people of the earth is waiting for it except you.” He said: At that time it was prayed only in Madinah, and they used to pray it between the disappearance of the twilight and the first third of the night.
Translator’s note: “He said: …” is a remark by a later narrator.

Aischa berichtete: Der Gesandte Allahs ﷺ verzögerte das Nachtgebet, bis Umar ihm zurief: „Das Gebet! Die Frauen und die Kinder sind eingeschlafen.“ Da kam er heraus und sagte: „Niemand von den Bewohnern der Erde außer euch wartet darauf.“ Er sagte: Damals wurde nur in Medina gebetet, und sie pflegten es zwischen dem Verschwinden der Abendröte und dem ersten Drittel der Nacht zu verrichten.
Translator’s note: „Er sagte: …“ ist eine Bemerkung eines späteren Überlieferers.

Âişe (r.a.) şöyle rivayet etti: Resûlullah ﷺ yatsı namazını geciktirdi; sonunda Ömer (r.a.) ona: “Namaz! Kadınlar ve çocuklar uyudu” diye seslendi. Bunun üzerine çıktı ve: “Yeryüzündekilerden sizden başka hiç kimse onu beklemiyor” buyurdu. (Râvi) şöyle dedi: O gün yalnızca Medine'de namaz kılınıyordu; onlar yatsıyı şafağın kaybolmasından gecenin ilk üçte birine kadar olan vakitte kılarlardı.
