Chapter 3 · Knowledge
Sahih

One who raises his voice in (conveying) knowledge

Translation

Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Prophet ﷺ stayed behind us on a journey we made. Then he caught up with us when (the time of) the prayer was pressing upon us and we were performing ablution (wudu), and we began wiping over our feet. So he called out at the top of his voice, “Woe to the heels from the Fire!” – twice or three times.

Translator’s note: The feet were not washed completely, so that the heels remained dry.

Other translations

Deutsch

Abdullah b. Amr (r.a.)
