Chapter 10 · Call to Prayers (Adhaan)
The people of knowledge and virtue are most entitled to lead the prayer

Translation
Anas ibn Malik reported that Abu Bakr used to lead them in prayer during the illness of the Prophet ﷺ in which he died, until on Monday, while they were in rows in the prayer, the Prophet ﷺ drew aside the curtain of the chamber and looked at us while he was standing; his face was as though it were a page of a copy of the Qur'an. Then he smiled and laughed. We were close to being distracted (from the prayer) out of joy at seeing the Prophet ﷺ. Abu Bakr stepped back on his heels to join the row, thinking that the Prophet ﷺ was coming out to the prayer. Then the Prophet ﷺ signalled to us to complete our prayer, and let the curtain down. And he died that same day.
Translator’s note: The comparison with a page of the Qur'an describes the beauty and brightness of his face.

Enes b. Mâlik (r.a.), Nebî'nin ﷺ vefat ettiği hastalığı sırasında Ebû Bekir'in onlara namaz kıldırdığını rivayet etti.
