Chapter 3 · Knowledge
One who fixes certain days for the people of knowledge

Translation
Shaqiq ibn Salamah reported: Abdullah used to remind the people every Thursday. A man said to him, “O Abu Abd ar-Rahman, I wish you would remind us every day.” He said, “What prevents me from that is that I dislike to weary you. I admonish you at intervals, just as the Prophet ﷺ used to admonish us at intervals, for fear of boredom coming upon us.”
Translator’s note: Abdullah is Ibn Mas'ud; Abu Abd ar-Rahman is his kunya.
