Anas ibn Malik reported: While we were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ in the mosque, a man came in on a camel, made it kneel in the mosque and then hobbled it. Then he said to them, “Which of you is Muhammad?” – while the Prophet ﷺ was reclining among them. We said, “This fair-skinned man who is reclining.” The man said to him, “Son of Abd al-Muttalib!” The Prophet ﷺ said to him, “I have answered you.” The man said to the Prophet ﷺ, “I am going to ask you and be severe with you in my questioning, so do not hold it against me.” He said, “Ask about whatever occurs to you.” He said, “I ask you by your Lord and the Lord of those before you: has Allah sent you to all people?” He said, “O Allah, yes.” He said, “I adjure you by Allah: has Allah commanded you that we pray the five prayers in the day and the night?” He said, “O Allah, yes.” He said, “I adjure you by Allah: has Allah commanded you that we fast this month of the year?” He said, “O Allah, yes.” He said, “I adjure you by Allah: has Allah commanded you to take this charity (sadaqah) from our rich and distribute it among our poor?” The Prophet ﷺ said, “O Allah, yes.” Then the man said, “I believe in what you have brought, and I am the envoy of those of my people whom I left behind. I am Dimam ibn Tha'labah, of the Banu Sa'd ibn Bakr.”
Anmerkung zur Übersetzung: “O Allah, yes”: an affirmation calling Allah to witness.

Enes b. Mâlik (r.a.) Adam ona, “Ey Abdülmuttalib'in oğlu!” dedi. Nebî ﷺ ona, “Sana cevap verdim” buyurdu. Adam Nebî'ye ﷺ, “Ben sana soru soracağım ve sorarken sana sert davranacağım; bana gücenme” dedi. Nebî ﷺ, “Aklına geleni sor” buyurdu. Adam şöyle dedi: “Senin Rabbin ve senden öncekilerin Rabbi adına soruyorum: Seni bütün insanlara Allah mı gönderdi?” “Allah'ım, evet” buyurdu. Adam, “Allah adına yemin vererek soruyorum: Gündüz ve gecede beş vakit namaz kılmamızı sana Allah mı emretti?” dedi. “Allah'ım, evet” buyurdu. Adam, “Allah adına yemin vererek soruyorum: Yılın bu ayında oruç tutmamızı sana Allah mı emretti?” dedi. “Allah'ım, evet” buyurdu. Adam, “Allah adına yemin vererek soruyorum: Bu sadakayı zenginlerimizden alıp fakirlerimize dağıtmanı sana Allah mı emretti?” dedi. Nebî ﷺ, “Allah'ım, evet” buyurdu. Bunun üzerine adam şöyle dedi: “Getirdiğine iman ettim. Ben, kavmimden geride bıraktıklarımın elçisiyim. Ben, Sa'd b. Bekir oğullarından Dımâm b. Sa'lebe'yim.”
Anmerkung zur Übersetzung: “Allah'ım, evet”: Allah'ı şahit tutarak yapılan bir teyit.
