Chapter 5 · Bathing (Ghusl)
Sahih

Whoever begins with the right side of his head in the ritual bath (ghusl)

Translation

Abu Hurairah reported: The Prophet ﷺ said, “The Children of Israel used to bathe naked, looking at one another, while Musa (Moses, peace be upon him) used to bathe alone. They said, ‘By Allah, nothing prevents Musa from bathing with us except that he has a scrotal hernia.’ Once he went to bathe and put his garment on a stone, and the stone fled with his garment. Musa went out after it, saying, ‘My garment, O stone!’ until the Children of Israel saw Musa and said, ‘By Allah, there is nothing wrong with Musa.’ He took his garment and began to strike the stone.” Abu Hurairah said, “By Allah, there are marks on the stone, six or seven, from the beating.”

Translator’s note: Scrotal hernia: a swelling of the scrotum, which they assumed because he did not show himself naked.

Deutsch

Ebû Hüreyre (r.a.) şöyle rivayet etti: Nebî ﷺ şöyle buyurdu: “İsrâiloğulları çıplak yıkanırlar, birbirlerine bakarlardı. Mûsâ (a.s.) ise tek başına yıkanırdı.
