{وَإِنْ طَائِفَتَانِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ اقْتَتَلُوا فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَهُمَا} فَسَمَّاهُمُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

“And if two groups of the believers fight each other, then make peace between them” – He called them believers

ذَهَبْتُ لأَنْصُرَ هَذَا الرَّجُلَ، فَلَقِيَنِي أَبُو بَكْرَةَ فَقَالَ أَيْنَ تُرِيدُ قُلْتُ أَنْصُرُ هَذَا الرَّجُلَ. قَالَ ارْجِعْ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " إِذَا الْتَقَى الْمُسْلِمَانِ بِسَيْفَيْهِمَا فَالْقَاتِلُ وَالْمَقْتُولُ فِي النَّارِ ". فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا الْقَاتِلُ فَمَا بَالُ الْمَقْتُولِ قَالَ " إِنَّهُ كَانَ حَرِيصًا عَلَى قَتْلِ صَاحِبِهِ ".

Al-Ahnaf ibn Qays reported: I set out to support this man, and Abu Bakrah met me and said, “Where are you going?” I said, “I am going to support this man.” He said, “Go back, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, ‘When two Muslims meet each other with their swords, then the killer and the killed are in the Fire.’ I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, that is (so for) the killer, but what about the one killed?’ He said, ‘He was eager to kill his companion.’”
