Men sleeping in the mosque

Translation

Abu Hurairah reported: I saw seventy of the people of the Suffah; not one of them had an upper wrap (rida'), but either a waist-wrapper or a cloak, which they had tied around their necks. Some of them reached halfway down the shins, and some reached the ankles, and he would gather it with his hand, disliking that his private parts should be seen.

Translator’s note: The Suffah was a covered area in the Prophet's Mosque where poor Muslims lived.

Other translations

Deutsch

Ebû Hüreyre (r.a.)
