Chapter 9 · Times of the Prayers
Sahih

Whoever catches a rak'ah of the Asr prayer before sunset

Translation

Abu Musa reported from the Prophet ﷺ: “The example of the Muslims, the Jews and the Christians is like that of a man who hired people to do work for him until night. They worked until midday, then said, ‘We have no need of your wage.’ So he hired others and said, ‘Complete the rest of your day, and you will have what I stipulated.’ They worked until, at the time of the Asr prayer, they said, ‘What we have worked is yours.’ So he hired people, and they worked the rest of their day until the sun set, and they received the full wage of both groups.”
