Chapter 9 · Times of the Prayers
The virtue of the Fajr prayer

Translation
Jarir ibn Abdullah reported: We were with the Prophet ﷺ when he looked at the moon on the night of the full moon and said, “You will see your Lord as you see this (moon); you will not crowd one another – or: you will not be in doubt – in seeing Him. So if you are able not to be prevented from a prayer before the rising of the sun and before its setting, then do so.” Then he said, “And glorify your Lord with His praise before the rising of the sun and before its setting.”
Translator’s note: Qur'an 20:130. The narrator was unsure between two similar-sounding Arabic words.

Abdullah (r.a.)
