Chapter 10 · Call to Prayers (Adhaan)
Sahih

The beginning of the adhan

Translation

Ibn Umar reported: When the Muslims came to Madinah, they used to gather and estimate the time of the prayer; no call was made for it. One day they talked about that. Some of them said, “Take a bell (naqus) like the bell of the Christians.” Others said, “Rather a trumpet like the horn of the Jews.” Umar said, “Will you not send a man to call to the prayer?” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “O Bilal, get up and call to the prayer.”

Deutsch

İbn Ömer (r.a.)
