Chapter 4 · Ablutions (Wudu')
Sahih

Wiping the whole head

Translation

Yahya ibn Umarah al-Mazini reported that a man said to Abdullah ibn Zayd – who is the grandfather of Amr ibn Yahya – “Can you show me how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform ablution (wudu)?” Abdullah ibn Zayd said, “Yes.” He called for water, poured it over his hands and washed his hands twice. Then he rinsed his mouth and blew the water out of his nose three times. Then he washed his face three times. Then he washed his hands up to the elbows, twice each. Then he wiped his head with his hands, moving them forwards and backwards: he began at the front of his head and took them to the nape of his neck, then brought them back to the place where he had started. Then he washed his feet.
