Ibn Mas'ud berichtete, dass der Prophet ﷺ beim Haus (der Kaaba) betete, während Abu Dschahl und einige seiner Gefährten dasaßen. Da sagte einer von ihnen zum anderen: „Wer von euch holt die Nachgeburt des geschlachteten Kamels der Banu Soundso und legt sie Muhammad auf den Rücken, wenn er sich niederwirft?“ Da erhob sich der Unseligste der Leute und brachte sie. Er wartete, und als der Prophet ﷺ sich niederwarf, legte er sie ihm auf den Rücken zwischen seine Schultern. Ich sah zu und konnte nichts ändern – hätte ich doch Schutz gehabt! Er sagte: Da fingen sie an zu lachen und sich (vor Lachen) aufeinander fallen zu lassen, während der Gesandte Allahs ﷺ in der Niederwerfung blieb und seinen Kopf nicht hob, bis Fatima zu ihm kam und es von seinem Rücken warf. Da hob er seinen Kopf und sagte dreimal: „O Allah, Dir überlasse ich die Quraisch!“ Das fiel ihnen schwer, weil er gegen sie gebetet hatte – er sagte: Sie waren der Ansicht, dass ein Bittgebet in dieser Stadt erhört wird. Dann nannte er sie mit Namen: „O Allah, Dir überlasse ich Abu Dschahl, und Dir überlasse ich Utba ibn Rabi'a, Schaiba ibn Rabi'a, al-Walid ibn Utba, Umayya ibn Chalaf und Uqba ibn Abi Mu'ait.“ Und er zählte den Siebten auf, doch er behielt ihn nicht im Gedächtnis. Er sagte: Bei Dem, in Dessen Hand meine Seele ist, ich habe diejenigen, die der Gesandte Allahs ﷺ aufgezählt hatte, niedergestreckt im Brunnen gesehen, dem Brunnen von Badr.

Çeviri notu: Der Unseligste war nach anderen Überlieferungen Uqba ibn Abi Mu'ait. Wer den Siebten nicht im Gedächtnis behielt, ist ein späterer Überlieferer in der Kette; nach anderen Überlieferungen war der Siebte Umara ibn al-Walid.

Ibn Mas'ud reported that the Prophet ﷺ was praying at the House (the Kaaba) while Abu Jahl and some of his companions were sitting there, when some of them said to others, “Which of you will bring the afterbirth of the slaughtered camel of the clan of so-and-so and put it on Muhammad's back when he prostrates?” The most wretched of the people rose up and brought it. He waited, and when the Prophet ﷺ prostrated, he placed it on his back between his shoulders. I was watching, unable to change anything – if only I had had protection! He said: Then they began to laugh and to lean on one another (with laughter), while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained in prostration, not raising his head, until Fatimah came to him and threw it off his back. Then he raised his head and said three times, “O Allah, deal with Quraysh!” That was hard on them, since he had invoked against them – he said: they held that a supplication in that city is answered. Then he named them: “O Allah, deal with Abu Jahl, and deal with Utbah ibn Rabi'ah, Shaybah ibn Rabi'ah, al-Walid ibn Utbah, Umayyah ibn Khalaf and Uqbah ibn Abi Mu'ayt.” He counted a seventh, but he did not retain it. He said: By the One in whose hand my soul is, I saw those whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had counted lying slain in the well, the well of Badr.

Çeviri notu: According to other narrations, the most wretched one was Uqbah ibn Abi Mu'ayt. The one who did not retain the seventh name is a later narrator in the chain; according to other narrations, the seventh was Umarah ibn al-Walid.
